First Steps Physical Therapists
MICHELLE ANDERSON

I graduated with my bachelors degree in biology and completed my doctoral physical therapy degree in 2012. During physical therapy school I developed a strong interest/love for pediatric therapy. Since graduation, I have had the pleasure of working with numerous families and their kiddos. I have clinical experience working with, but not limited to: developmental delays, torticollis, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy/stroke, autism, hypotonia, hypertonia, and prematurity. I enjoy learning and take advantage of clinical education for a variety of pediatric conditions. I look forward to working closely with my PediPlay team, service coordinators, my kiddos, and their families.

KELSEY RUSSO
I live in Columbus, IN with my husband and 2 little boys. I have been a First Steps physical therapist/specialized in pediatrics since 2013 and absolutely love working in this environment. I went to Denison University for my bachelor’s degree and got my doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky. I have worked closely as a member of a transdiciplinary team with Occupational therapists and Speech therapists to help provide better therapy for my patients. I am comfortable treating a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to – torticollis, brachial plexus injuries, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, hydrocephalus, dystonia, gait abnormalities and medically fragile infants and toddlers. I truly enjoy working in the home environment and determining what works best for each child so that they can thrive. I am currently treating kiddos in Brown, Johnson and Shelby County and look forward to working with your child!
NICHOLE SCHANK
I have always had a strong passion for working with children and I'm so happy to be a part of Pediplay's team to do exactly that! My clinical work was at Children's TheraPlay Foundation, Inc. before graduating from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at the University of Indianapolis. Throughout my clinical work I was able to collaborate with Physical Therapists to create the best plan for kiddos with a wide variety of diagnoses. My goal is always to create the best environment for your little one with your participation in order for them to have the highest level of function and best quality of life possible- while still having fun!
I am also bilingual and strive to help families whose first language is Spanish; by eliminating the language barrier I am able to provide the best care in order for both the kiddo and family to succeed.
LAURA RAY
I have been a pediatric physical therapist for over 20 years now. I began my career in First Steps early intervention in 2000. I have also had experience working in the NICU at Community Hospital North. I have been known to sneak in a few clients at the clinic as well! I love to see children learn how to be independent in their environment, however that mobility occurs.
When I am not working with children to achieve their goals, I am busy with 2 boys of my own, ages 9 and 12, and a very energetic lab/ shepherd mix dog. I also love to run, go hiking, and travel.
TERRI WARNE
I have over 25 years of experience as a PTA, graduating in 1992 from Vincennes University. I specialize in Pediatric and Adult Neuro Rehab, Vestibular Rehab and extensive training in Myofascial Release. I have experience working with Traumatic Brain Injury, Muscular Dystrophy (SMA), Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, and Developmental Delays to name a few. My favorite part of my job is working as a team with OT and Speech which has helped evolve my skills as a therapist. I have got to work in all settings from home health care, outpatient, inpatient and school setting. I feel my communication skills, compassion, and on the spot problem solving have helped me become a strong Physical Therapist Assistant when working with any child.
