I graduated from University of Indianapolis with my master’s in occupational therapy. I have a strong passion for working with kids ages 0-3 as they grow and learn new things every day. I love play based therapy because it allows kids to have fun and stay engaged while working on the skills they need for daily life. I strongly believe it is my job to listen to parents concerns and work together on making a plan that will assist each individual child/family in progressing towards their goals. I want to bring new and creative ideas into your home in order to make each session fun and exciting. I have a strong pediatric background and have worked with many different diagnosis. I look forward to working with families in overcoming obstacles in order to gain independence.

I am an Indiana native and have worked with children of all abilities and ages for many years. I love working with children because each day brings new wonders and excitements. They are my greatest encouragement to use my imagination, stay positive, and always celebrate the simplest things every single day. Every child is so unique and special in their own way that I believe collaboration with families is the key to achieving each child’s goals. My goal is to not only support every child the best way I can, but their families as well. I received my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Ball State University and graduated from the University of Indianapolis with my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. I have clinic experience working with Development Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ ADHD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Sensory Processing Disorders and I have a strong interest in child mental health.

NANCY SIMMONS

I have been practicing since 1994, working with people across the lifespan in a variety of settings. I recently moved to Indiana from southern Illinois where I provided Early Intervention occupational therapy for 20 years. As a mother of 3 adopted children, I have personal experience in helping children develop functional skills related to challenges as a result of developmental trauma disorder.  I have worked with children with a variety of developmental disruptions, such as: Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD/ADD, Cerebral Palsy, gross and fine motor delays, executive function disorder, sensory processing disorder, and mental health. I have had professional training in neuro-developmental intervention approaches including Brain and Sensory Foundations for rhythmical movements, retained primitive reflexes, sensory integration and feeding difficulties. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Southern Indiana and a Master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Indianapolis. In my spare time, I enjoy travel and creating opportunities for adventures with her family.

JULINA SMITH

You could say that Julina's pediatric experience started at the age of 11, when she started babysitting some of her 6 younger siblings.

As an Occupational Therapist, she's worked with kids in school systems, in a clinical environment and in First Steps Early Intervention as both an ongoing provider and assessment team member.

She also has experience with rare disease & caregiving since her husband was diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis in 2016, and with being a stepmom to (now-adult) children with special needs (autism + anxiety/depression + multiple food/environmental allergies; Tourette syndrome + ADHD + dyslexia, etc).

She enjoys reading, baking, walking the dog (usually), simple board/card games, & learning from and about people.

I have always loved working with kids because of their unique perspectives on life and their energy! I like to find fun, creative ways to help kids develop their skills as they grow. Prior to my career at PediPlay, I worked as a direct support professional and graduated with my OTD from the University of Indianapolis in 2021. I am especially passionate about assisting churches and other community organizations who seek to welcome kids who require additional support. I am excited to work alongside families to help kids succeed in the things that are important to them.
